New Connection Request

New connection for new building/ premises that is complete in construction in an area that has an existing electricity line.This can be done by filling the request form for “new connection&rdquo

  1. Copy of ID
  2. Copy of Mulkiya and krooki
  3. Building completion certificate (from Ministry of Municipalities)
  4. Copy of the permit from Electricity engineer who is responsible for the internal electricity connections
  5. Description of the devices/appliances required to be connected and their required load
  1. Visit Sanad Centers with required documents & submit your request.
  2. After receiving the required documents, the inspector will visit the site, inspect the safety of the connections, and propose the best solution to connect to electrical source.
  3. The customer will pay connection fees & required load (if applicable). An account will be created for the customer in order to be able to make payment of charges for new connection as well as receive monthly electricity bills.
  4. You will then be given a list of approved companies that will be able to install the new meter (which is previously inspected by us) and connecting to the power source.
  5. Mazoon Electricity will then perform the final safety check to ensure that all connections are in place and are safe for use.

Initial Connection Request

Is where the customer requests for electricity connection while starting the construction process and after receiving the no objection letter from municipality to be able to enhance the network if required

  1. Copy of ID
  2. Copy of Mulkiya and krooki
  3. No objection certificate from municipality
  4. Copy of the permit from Electricity engineer who will be responsible for the internal electricity connections
  5. Type of load required
  1. Go to your nearest Mazoon Customer Care Center or Sanad center to apply for the service
  2. After receiving the required documents, the inspector will visit the site, inspect the safety of the connections, and propose the best solution to connect to electrical source.
  3. The company will be able to enhance the network if required.

Tariff change Request

Tariff change request is when the customer would like to change the type of use of his premise. In this case, the customer requests to change the tariff in order to suit the new use.

  1. Copy of ID
  2. Copy of Mulkiya and krooki
  3. To change the tariff to agricultural tariff, a letter of endorsement will be required from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries along with required documents
  4. To change the tariff to Tourism, a letter of endorsement will be required from the Ministry of Tourism along with required documents
  5. To change the tariff to Manufacturing, , a letter of endorsement will be required from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry
  6. Copy of last bill issued by MZEC and already paid.
  1. Go to Sanad center to request for Tariff Change by presenting the last bill
  2. The account number and meter number will be verified
  3. An MZEC inspector will visit the premise to verify the applicability of the required new tariff to the premise & record the latest meter reading
  4. The customer will be required to pay all outstanding up to date
  5. After receiving the receipt of payment, the tariff required will be given according to the inspectors report.

Disconnection/ Reconnection of Electricity Supply

Customer requesting to disconnect the electrical power supply for the reasons of renovation, demolishment, or extension of their premises. After completion of the task, the customer would request for reconnection of the electricity supply.

  1. Copy of ID
  2. Copy of Mulkiya and krooki
  3. Copy of last bill – fully paid (for disconnection request)
  1. Go to Sanad center to request for disconnection
  2. The account number and meter number will be verified
  3. An inspector will visit the premise to note the latest meter reading
  4. The customer will be required to pay all outstanding up to date
  5. After receiving the receipt of payment, the customer is required to pay a disconnection fee of OMR 7.5/-
  6. The electricity supply will then be disconnected

For Reconnection of Electricity Supply:

  1. In the case where the customer is requesting for the same meter to be reconnected, he/she is required to pay the reconnection fee of OMR 7.5/-. Then customer can select a certified contractor from contractors list available at MZEC offices to connect electricity to the premise.
  2. In the case where the customer would like to request for new meter with additional load, the customer would be required to go through the process of applying for New Connection​
